Thousands of vehicles are expected to participate in the Michigan Trump 2020 Cannonball Run starting at the Michigan border and continuing on two main routes to the Mackinac Bridge. The Cannonball Run will start statewide at high noon on October 11.
“Trump Cannonball Run is a follow up to our massive MAGA boat parades, our MAGA Classic Car Cruise on Woodward Dream Cruise weekend and our huge MAGA Classic Car Rally & Fly Over in Frankenmuth. Cannonball is shaping up to be the biggest Trump event of this election cycle,” said Rosanne Ponkowski, President of the Michigan Conservative Coalition. “Cannonball Run will provide Michigan’s patriots and Trump supporters with two distinct and statewide routes to display their vehicles and their support.”
The Trump 2020 Cannonball Run will start from the Ohio border using I-75 and from the Indiana border using US 131. Each route will end at the Mackinac Bridge.
To participate, Trump supporters are asked to decorate their vehicle of choice with American flags, Trump flags and similar patriotic displays. Participants should use their car, truck, van, motorcycle or any vehicle legal on the highway they select to drive. At high noon, using the closest highway entrance closest, participants are asked to drive north on either I-75 or US 131. The suggested drive is north for one hour, and then reverse course and drive south for one hour.
“Given the huge Trump rallies across America, we know that Trump supporters like to gather with their friends. So for participants who want to ‘tailgate’ or party, this is their plan” said Ponkowski. “Join a Trump 2020 caravan by gathering before high noon, say about 11 a.m. at any of the rest stops noted below. Then, at high noon, join the drive by heading north! Each rest stop will have a ‘captain’ with needed information. Captains will be announced using social media so watch our Facebook page for details.”
“Trump 2020 Cannonball Run is not a race,” said Ponkowski. “This will be a statewide rolling display of support for Trump. Each driver is asked to drive the minimum legal speed so those watching along the route can enjoy the experience. We ask those who participate to obey all police officers, to not block any emergency vehicle and to make sure that all drivers on the highway are respected. That includes getting all drivers on and off the highway safely. Suggestions for a safe event are available at the MCC website, Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/michiganconservativecoalition/) and Instagram (mi_conservative_coalition).”
To join a Trump 2020 Cannonball Run caravan gather at any of these designated rest stops no later than 11:30 a.m. Then, at high noon, proceed north bound on your chosen highway. Here are the rest stops announced today:

“Michiganders, perhaps more than other voters, know that the road to the White House in 2020 runs through Michigan,” said Ponkowksi. “As we enter the home stretch of the 2020 election cycle, let’s make the Cannonball Run a special display of support for Trump.”
All participants need to follow safe practices at all times, including the Michigan Safe Start guidelines.
