Bark River Kids Have Newly-Renovated Playgrounds Thanks To Community Effort

The downpour of rain on Saturday morning didn’t take away from the excitement of the ribbon cutting ceremonies at the newly-renovated playgrounds at the Bark River Senior Center Park, and the Bark River Highway ‘Little Park’.

Treasurer of Delta-Menominee County Heart of the North Lions Club, Jane Lanaville, who is holding the scissors to cut the ribbon in the photos, would like to thank everyone involved in this project, including the Lions Club International, the Bark River Lions Single District 10, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Hannahville Indian Community, Community Foundation for Delta County, Bark River Township, the Edward J. Sackerson Foundation, Escanaba Kiwanis Club, Escanaba Rotary, and all the other donors and volunteers who made these playgrounds possible.

The community is invited to utilize the new playground equipment along with the new memorial benches and picnic areas.
