On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at approximately 12:32 a.m., Marinette County Dispatch was notified of a structure fire at the Northpoint located at N2085 Vernon Hills Drive in the Town of Grover, Marinette County.
All occupants were able to safely exit the building without injury. The Grover Porterfield Fire Department responded to the scene along with deputies from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and an officer from the Peshtigo Police Department.
It was reported that flames were coming from the back of the building. Upon arrival, fire members were able to quickly suppress the fire. The fire caused moderate damage to the building. Also assisting at the scene were members from the Town of Peshtigo Fire Department, Town of Lake Fire Department, Town of Pound Fire Department, Aurora Bay Area Rescue, and Wisconsin Public Service.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations and the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.
