Mushers and their dogs will converge on Marquette February 12th through the 14th for the Annual U-P 200 Sled Dog Race. Three races, actually. In addition to the main race there’s also the shorter Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30 races.
UP 200 President Ross Anthony says there’s a lot of people involved in putting on the races, including the veternarians who take care of the dogs. And he says the race has a big economic impact on the region, with hotels, gas stations, and other stores seeing increases business.
