CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH KENT DUBORD, EPW
Due to severe winter weather and wind gusts up to 50 mph, operations have been temporarily Suspended until conditions improve. Travel throughout the area is extremely dangerous, and residents are strongly advised to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
Public Works Director Kent Dubord tells RRN News that there were several “close calls” with plows nearly getting into accidents with other vehicles. He says that several city streets are currently impassable because of heavy snow accumulation and strong winds creating significant snow drifts.
Dubord says the best way you can help is to remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel while crews monitor conditions and work to ensure community safety.
For emergency situations, he says to call 911, and your call will be directed to the appropriate emergency services. Residents are asked to avoid unnecessary travel until roadways can be cleared. Numerous vehicles got stuck this morning, which forced plow trucks to come to complete stops and reroute because roads and alleyways were blocked.
Additional updates will be provided as conditions change.
