A 28-year-old man from Rapid River was arrested on March 29, 2026, for multiple felony offenses, including drug and weapons charges.
A trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gladstone Post, while on patrol on LL Road in Garden Township, observed a subject with an active arrest warrant riding a bicycle. The trooper saw the suspect cross the intersection of LL Road and US-2 without stopping and initiated a traffic stop.
The suspect initially ignored commands to stop and rode to a nearby residence before complying. The trooper then took the suspect into custody for the warrant.
During the investigation, troopers discovered the suspect was carrying a concealed pistol, methamphetamine, and prescription pills not prescribed to him.
The suspect did not have a concealed pistol license. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence resulted in the seizure of another pistol, 14 long guns, and additional methamphetamine. One of the rifles recovered had been reported stolen in 2016.
The suspect was lodged at the Delta County Jail.
