An update now in the investigation of the death of a two-year-old boy in Ironwood Township.
The Gogebic County Sheriff on Wednesday said that the initial investigation shows that the boy left a home and walked onto Lake Road, without his family knowing, back on March 19th.
He was hit by the car travelling northbound on Lake Road just after 4 a.m.
The sheriff’s department says that the drivers of all of the cars on the road between 4:00 and 4:41 am that day have been cooperative in the investigation. The boy’s name has not been made public.
Sheriff Jorge Cruz says the investigation continues as they watch surveillance video from the neighborhood. The Michigan State Police and the Midwest Medical Office are helping in the investigation.
