A sure sign of summer is the seasonal reopening of the Marquette Maritime Museum. Hilary Billman is the museum’s director and she says that both locals and tourists alike have been re-discovering the region’s rich maritime heritage.
And she says there’s been some new additions to the museum, including an updated Edmund Fitzgerald exhibit with its lifering. Billman says a state grant also helped them to interactive kiosks, which are now operational.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday now through October 8th.
Billman says there will be a member open house on this Tuesday at the Stannard Rock Boathouse behind the museum. It will give you a sneak peak of thr boathouse. The event will be held Tuesday afternoon at 5:00.
