On 6/22/2026, Jonathan A. Barnes was arraigned in the 96 th District Court of Marquette on the following charges authorized by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office;
- Embezzlement $20.000 to $50,000 Felony.
On 6/18/2026, Jonathan BARNES was taken into custody.
The arrest comes at the conclusion of an investigation conducted by the Forsyth Township Police Department. It was determined that Jonathan BARNES, while employed by Larrys Family Food in Gwinn, had embezzled several thousands of dollars utilizing a gift card scheme.
The investigation was initiated by Larrys Family Food administration when they learned of the large discrepancy in gift card sales. That information was then immediately turned over to the Forsyth Township Police Department for further investigation.
The investigation showed that Jonathan Barnes while employed at the business, pre-loaded several thousand dollars in gift cards. BARNES then used those gift cards at various local businesses and online shopping vendors for personal purchases.
