The City of Ishpeming invites residents and visitors to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary on Saturday, July 4, with a full day of patriotic festivities, family-friendly activities, and community traditions.
The celebration begins at 8:15 a.m. with the Firecracker 5K Fun Run and 1K Walk at Ishpeming High School and continues throughout the day with the Daryl Champion Kid’s Bike Parade, the 47th Annual Ishpeming Independence Day Parade, and the popular Fourth of July Picnic at Al Quaal Recreation Area.
The day concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
Activities at Al Quaal begin at noon and feature something for everyone, including a petting farm, Negaunee Luge Club demonstrations, carnival games, First Tee Golf activities, bounce houses, a car show, food vendors, live music, and more. Admission to the picnic and fireworks is free and open to the public.
