One of Marinette’s biggest summer traditions is getting even bigger this year. The Logging & Heritage Festival is expanding to three days of family-friendly entertainment, featuring live music, fireworks, a car show, craft vendors and plenty of activities for all ages. The City of Marinette is adding another day to one of its signature summer events.
This year’s Logging & Heritage Festival kicks off Friday night and continues through Sunday at Stephenson Island, offering everything from live entertainment and food vendors to fireworks, and lumberjack shows, along with dozens of activities for families. Festival organizers say the goal is to make the event affordable and accessible for everyone.
New this year is the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, along with the popular BMX bike demonstrations and expanded informational exhibits. Organizers say sponsorships allow nearly all of the family activities to remain free.
The annual car show also returns Sunday, and organizer Joe Nault says participation continues to grow every year.
The festival also features the Logger’s Run and Kids Fun Run Saturday morning.
Dorothy Kowalski says children ten and under can participate free of charge and receive shirts, medals and prizes.
Organizers say more than two dozen craft vendors, food booths and entertainment will fill Stephenson Island throughout the weekend, making this year’s three-day celebration one of the largest in the festival’s history. Residents can find a complete schedule on the City of Marinette or Logging & Heritage Festival Facebook pages.
