Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa reports that one person is dead following a UTV accident that occurred yesterday evening.
At approximately 7:52 PM on Tuesday, July 21st, Menominee County Sheriff Deputies were notified of the accident, which occurred south of the intersection of County Road 577 and Birch Creek #6 Road. Deputies arrived on scene to find a single-vehicle UTV accident, with one occupant ejected from the vehicle with significant traumatic injuries.
While life-saving measures were initiated, additional law enforcement officers made contact with a pedestrian who was also a passenger in the UTV. The passenger was transported to the hospital for medical care. The driver was declared deceased.
While this incident is still under investigation, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors. Anyone with information related to this fatality is encouraged to contact the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office at (906) 863-4441.
