Marinette County Sheriff’s officers responded to Petite Lane in the Marinette County Town of Pembine last night, January 13, shortly before 11 p.m. after a man called authorities to say he had shot his wife earlier in the evening, and she was dead.
Officers found a deceased 63-year-old woman dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
The caller, a 55-year-old man, was arrested and lodged in the Marinette County Jail.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve issued a press release in which he said, “This is an isolated incident inside a residence involving only the husband and wife. The public is not in any danger.”
Reports on the incident are being prepared for the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is continuing.
