Due to a water main break on the 800 block of South 19th Street, this street will be closed to all traffic on Friday, February 15th, between 7th Ave south and 8th Ave South, starting at 8 am, and remain closed until the repair is completed.
Water service in this area will be shut off from mid-morning for the durations of the repair. This afternoon, the affected residents will receive a door to door notification of the water being turned off on Friday, and a door hanger will be left if you’re not home at the time of the notification.
The following blocks will be affected:
1900 block of 5th Ave South
1800 block of 6th Ave South
1800 block of 7
th Ave South
1800 block of 10th Ave South
600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, & 1200 blocks of South 19th Street
If you are in or near the affected area, please avoid washing laundry today (2/14) and tomorrow (2/15). Crews are excising valves to prepare for tomorrows repair.
This will create some dirty and discolored
Please allow your water some time to clear before calling to inform us, as we expect some problems with dirty or discolored water.
Following the repair the water mains will be flushed to clear the debris created, this flushing is expected to last until approximate 4:00 PM Friday. Please allow yourself extra time if you are traveling in this area.
