Senate Oversight Committee Chairman Sen. Ed McBroom, R-Vulcan, announced that the committee will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 19 for a presentation by the state Office of the Auditor General.
The auditor general will discuss the follow-up report on the Michigan Department of Corrections’ (MDOC) Facility Closures and Consolidations. McBroom is inviting Gogebic County residents to participate in the hearing remotely via video conference. The 2018 MDOC closure of the Ojibway Correctional Facility, which was located in the county, has had a major impact on the community.
