On Friday, March 1, members of the Michigan State Police (MSP) and Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested a suspect wanted for homicide in Ottawa County.
Detectives from the Ottawa County Sherriff’s Department had information the suspect,18-year-old Juan Sandro Cabrera, was in the Upper Peninsula, at a home in Watersmeet, and contacted the MSP for assistance with his arrest.
Detectives from UPSET obtained a warrant and utilized the MSP Emergency Support Team to enter the home. Cabrera was arrested without incident, at approximately 5:30a.m., and held at the Gogebic County Jail until he could be transported to Ottawa County where he was arraigned on open murder, felony firearms possession and gang membership charges.
