Gov. Gretchen Whitmer presented her budget recommendations today for the 2019-20 fiscal year to a joint meeting of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. In response to her recommendations, state Rep. Sara Cambensy (D-Marquette) issued the following statement:
“Now that we know the governor’s priorities, I look forward to hearing the House and Senate Appropriations Committee reports in the coming months before a permanent budget is solidified. While I agree that we need to identify increased funding sources for our infrastructure, schools and revenue sharing back to local units of government, where that money comes, what we cut or tax, is still up for debate.”
