The Marquette County Health Department (MCHD) is reporting the first COVID-19 related death within Marquette County on April 3, 2020. With additional positive cases being evaluated each day, this number is expected to rise.
COVID-19 is a serious illness that can lead to death although most cases are mild. It is inperative that all citizens adhere to all Public Health recommendations to protect the lives of others.
MCHD takes the legal rights and personal privacy of the public very seriously. As such, MCHD will not provide information regarding the location of treatment, location, or residence or any other information that may be construed as Protected Health Information (PHI) under law.
Based upon the occurrence of COVID-19 positive cases within Marquette County, and throughout Michigan, it should be assumed that COVID-19 is present within your community.
