Michigan Crosses 20,000 Coronavirus Cases; 959 Deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday afternoon that the state’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has jumped to 20,346, which is 1,376 more cases in the past 24 hours.

There have now been 959 deaths reported in Michigan due to the virus, including four in the Upper Peninsula: two in Marquette, one each Dickinson and Gogebic Counties. That’s 114 more deaths in the past 24 hours statewide, but no new deaths in the U.P.

Schoolcraft County reported its first coronavirus case on Wednesday. Delta County added a case while Marquette County had one removed.

There are 38 reported cases in the Upper Peninsula: 18 in Marquette County, eight in Delta County, three each in Mackinac and Gogebic Counties, two in Dickinson County, and one each in Schoolcraft, Houghton, Chippewa, and Luce Counties.
