Citizens and small business owners have had enough of Lansing’s erratic, unilateral orders that threaten Michiganders’ economic existence. The Michigan Conservative Coalition is calling for a vehicle rally to surround the Capitol Building on April 15 at 12 p.m. (noon).
Display signs, make noise and be disruptive, but stay in your vehicle so that the “Whitmer police” cannot say you are ignoring the “social distancing” order.
“Michigan’s typical small business owners obey laws, but they may not notice the progressive agenda being pushed by our radical leftist Governor Whitmer,” said Rosanne Ponkowski, President of the Michigan Conservative Coalition. “Dope shops are open, while cigar shops are closed.”
“Numerous outdoor jobs like landscaping, nurseries, excavation and lawn services are shut down. Heart surgeries are banned as non-essential, but abortion clinics remain open,” said Meshawn Maddock, Chair of the 11th District Republican Committee. “Construction–including much road repair—is shut down, though not a single neighboring state is doing that. Easter and Passover services were effectively cancelled by a government order. The madness needs to end before Michigan’s freedoms and economy are damaged beyond repair by power hungry bureaucrats.”
During this time, try to call your Michigan Representative, or Senator or even the Capitol. All are closed. Maybe leave a voicemail and a staffer will occasionally clean those out. Getting a response will be an issue. Good luck locating an elected person. The Operation Gridlock rally will create a forum to “redress grievances” We will remind the globalist elites in Lansing, that it is a citizen’s right to make a complaint to, or seek the assistance of, one’s government without fear of punishment or reprisal.
“We can get this rally done and stay within the social distancing guidelines,” said Marian Sheridan, an MCC co-founder. “Citizens are frankly tired of being treated like babies. As adults, we now know what needs to be done to stay safe. We also believe the liberal attack on the economy is becoming a serious threat right now. Join us in Lansing. We need to stop the madness and have a plan to re-open Michigan’s economy before it is too late.”
Vehicles can include business owners’ trucks and autos, personal autos or anything allowed to be driven on a taxpayer funded highway. Display flags, signs and come ready for a potentially major traffic jam around the (taxpayer funded) Michigan Capitol Building located at 100 N. Capitol Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933. Remember to stay in your vehicle and practice safe hygiene as we have all been reminded. Cars should be filled with only members of your immediate family. No carpooling since gas is cheap!
“Let’s start with the fact that some counties have no or very few COVID cases and yet are totally shut down,” said Ponkowski. “When did one size solve everyone’s local issues? Governor Whitmer will put you out of business before allowing mere citizens to be responsible for their own behavior. That is madness.”
