Holy Name Catholic School has cancelled its annual Spring Fling Fundraising Dinner for this year, due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. The event was formerly scheduled for April 18 and was going to be re-scheduled; however, due to school being suspended indefinitely and the uncertainty of the local economy, the event will not take place in 2020.
However, on Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m., winners of the Dinero & Destination & 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 raffles will be announced live on the Holy Name Catholic School’s Facebook page, so people are encouraged to mail their tickets in to Holy Name at 409 So. 22nd Street, Escanaba, MI 49829 by Friday, April 17th.
“This was a difficult decision to make, but in light of the times, and the continued uncertainty about the future, we decided that this is the best decision for everyone’s safety,” said Michelle Bink, Spring Fling Coordinator and Holy Name Alumni/Development Director. “After much thought and prayer, we feel our community may be struggling for the coming months; therefore, we do not feel it is responsible to continue to have this fundraiser. Letters were mailed to all those who purchased dinner tickets and all cash donors regarding their options for the dinner tickets and financial gifts.”
Holy Name will hold Spring Fling 2021 in April of next year; the date will be announced at a later time.
If you have not yet received a letter from the school and have any questions about the event, please e-mail alumni@holynamecrusaders.com.
Holy Name Catholic School thanks the community for their continued support and wishes everyone a blessed Easter.
