Human remains were found inside a burned out home in Marinette County, Wisconsin, early Monday morning.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says the call came in at 12:40 Monday morning to go to a home on Snyder Road in the Town of Wagner, Wisconsin.
Five fire departments, including one from the Upper Peninsula side of the border, worked on putting out the flames, which had spread to nearby grass and trees, but there were no other homes near this one.
When the flames were put out, investigators found the body that they believe is that of an elderly woman.
The Marinette County coroner is working to identify the remains and then next of kin will also be notified. The fire remains under investigation.
