The Schoolcraft County CBC fundraising effort is in its 53rd year to help support the Bay Cliff Health Camp, American Cancer Society, and a “third charity” to be named later.
Now, organizers have named that third charity: Saint Vincent de Paul of Manistique.
The CBC had to cancel its normal Palm Sundy telethon at the Manistique High School because of the coronavirus restrictions. However, they are still raising money through June 15th. Go to cbcschoolcraft.org.
- To qualify for the 3rd Charity:
- Charity must serve Schoolcraft County Residents.
- Must have a current 501c3 designation.
- Fulfill at least one of the following community needs: Access to food & clothing; Poverty; Access to Health Care of contribute to the health welfare of the community.
- We had six interested organizations.
- There are many supporting functions that contributed to why Saint Vincent de Paul was selected. Given the extraordinary time we find ourselves in during the COVID-19 pandemic we see Saint Vincent de Paul as a known resource and a long-standing local community partner supporting health and wellbeing of our community. They have the flexibility to support a broad array of needs which is import during these constantly changing times.
