The Delta County Prosecutor’s office says that Daniel James Wiltzius, 41, of Escanaba was sentenced 40 months to 7 years in prison. Wiltzius was sentenced following the entry of a plea to 3 counts of Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Materials (punishable by up to 4 years in prison) and 3 counts of Using Computer to Commit a Crime (punishable by up to 7 years in prison).
In February 2019, Michigan State Troopers conducted a search of a cell phone in a unrelated drug investigation. The agent located child sexually abusive material (CSAM) that had been downloaded several months earlier. Through their Michigan State Troopers, determined that the cell phone belonged to Wiltzuis at the time the CSAM was obtained. A search warrant at Wiltzius’ residence located another cell phone, also containing CSAM.
