Escanaba Public Safety is warning of a possible phone scam, where people could be tricked into thinking that they will have their utilities shut off unless they immediately make a payment.
The City of Escanaba say they will never call you and threaten to shut off services, or demand immediate payments. All shut off notices are delivered by a City of Escanaba employee either in person, or through the mail. You are being urged to not share personal information with anyone you don’t know, and if you have questions about shutoffs or payments, call City Hall at 786-0552.
