The City of Escanaba’s annual fireworks display went off without a hitch Friday night, with a show that lasted approximately 25 minutes. There were safety measures in place due to the coronavirus, including hand sanitizers throughout Ludington Park and portable toilets also with sanitizer available.
The Escanaba City Band played before the fireworks went off at about 10:15, and there were other live music acts in the bandshell area earlier in the day.
The celebration continues on Saturday as food vendors were selling their items for a second day.
Across the bay, Gladstone has its fireworks set for Saturday night, as do Bark River, Manistique, Hermansville, and Iron Mountain.
