St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marinette is thrilled to announce our partnership with the M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF) to continue to fight poverty and hunger in our surrounding communities with $7,000 from the Impact Fund for COVID-19 Relief.
The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation established this fund in March to help nonprofits whose resources have been strained by the Coronavirus. The Foundation seeded the Impact Fund with $25,000. Additional donations were made to the fund by community members throughout Marinette and Menominee Counties
St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marinette is a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need. We will use this grant to continue to distribute food and resources to the most vulnerable in our communities.
There are two pieces to St. Vincent de Paul’s Marinette location: our thrift store and our food pantry. Our thrift store creates an income for our organization to feed the hungry as the largest food pantry in Northeast Wisconsin. When COVID-19 hit, our thrift store doors were closed for over two months, nearly eliminating all income from the store, leaving us with tens of thousands of dollars in deficit.
To help us continue to battle the rise of hunger in our areas, please follow us on Facebook at Facebook.com/SVDPMarinette.
