The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Friday afternoon 660 new coronavirus cases and seven new deaths.
Michigan now has 72,502 confirmed positive cases and 6,108 COVID-19 deaths.
There were six new cases reported in the Upper Peninsula on Friday: two in Dickinson County, and one each in Marquette, Menominee, Iron, and Houghton Counties.
The statewide report lists Dickinson County’s total as 24 positive cases but the local health department lists the total as 28.
The state report also does not include Friday’s case that was reported in Iron County.
There have now been 313 confirmed positive cases and 18 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula in the nearly four months of this pandemic.
There have been 34 “probable” cases listed in the Upper Peninsula. Those are people who do not have a positive test result confirmed, but health officials believe their illnesses or deaths were related to COVID-19.
As of Friday, the state lists an additional 8,091 cases and 247 deaths in the “probable” category.
As of Friday, the state completed 1,638,290 tests, including 192,929 tests for antibodies and 1,445,361 diagnostic tests.
