The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Friday afternoon 594 new coronavirus cases and three new deaths.
Michigan now has 76,541 confirmed positive cases and 6,151 COVID-19 deaths.
There were five new cases in the U.P. on Friday: two each in Dickinson and Iron Counties, and one case in Mackinac County.
The Upper Peninsula now has 387 positive test results since this pandemic began in March.
MDHHS also lists an additional 8,531 cases and 249 deaths in the “probable” category, which means COVID-19 is suspected but there is no positive test.
There have also been 49 “probable” cases reported in the Upper Peninsula.
As of Friday, the state completed 1,841,247 tests, including 204,810 tests for antibodies and 1,637,017 diagnostic tests.
The state also lists 55,162 people as recovered in Michigan. These are people who are still alive at least 30 days after testing positive or being diagnosed with COVID-19. This number is updated every Saturday.
