The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 565 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, and six new deaths.
Michigan now has 92,720 positive test results since the crisis began five months ago, and 6,324 total deaths.
Sunday’s 565 positive cases came as roughly 30,000 new diagnostic tests were added to the statewide total.
The MDHHS saya that 67,778 people have recovered, which means they are still alive at least 30 days after diagnosis or onset. That’s an additional 4,142 recoveries in the past week.
The Upper Peninsula added 12 new positive test results on Sunday. Four of them were in Menominee County, and two were added in both Iron and Ontonagon Counties. There were single cases reported in Delta, Dickinson, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties.
The U.P. has a total of 796 confirmed positive test results since the first case was reported back in March.
No new deaths were reported in the Upper Peninsula on Sunday.
The last death reported in the U.P. was on June 26 in Iron County. Before that, the most recent death was on May 24, in Marquette County.
Statewide as of Sunday, there have been 9,539 “probable” cases, and 268 deaths are listed as probable. This is where COVID-19 is suspected, but there is no positive test result to confirm it.
The state reports 107 “probable” cases for the Upper Peninsula, as of Saturday.
As of Saturday, Michigan has completed 2,587,612 tests. Of those, 2,349,431 tests are diagnostic tests, and 238,181 tests were for antibodies.
