Upper Peninsula Adds Ten Positive Tests; No New Deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 761 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, and seven new deaths.

The 761 positive tests came from more than 41,000 total tests that were added to the state’s total on Tuesday.

Michigan now has 99,200 positive test results since the crisis began five months ago, and 6,424 total deaths.

The Upper Peninsula added ten new cases on Wednesday. Five of them were in Delta County. Marquette and Dickinson Counties each added two positive tests, and Menominee County added one.

The U.P. now has seen 923 total cases since the crisis began five months ago, and 18 deaths.

No new deaths were reported in the U.P. on Wednesday.

The last death reported in the U.P. was on June 26 in Iron County. Before that, the most recent death was on May 24, in Marquette County.

Statewide as of Wednesday, there have been 10,280 “probable” cases, and 266 deaths are listed as probable. This is where COVID-19 is suspected, but there is no positive test result to confirm it.

The Upper Peninsula has had 141 “probable” cases reported as of Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, Michigan has completed 2,901,313 tests. Of those, 2,651,069 tests are diagnostic tests, and 250,244 tests were for antibodies.

The MDHHS says that 72,580 people have recovered, which means they are still alive at least 30 days after diagnosis or onset. This is updated every Saturday.
