Escanaba Sewage System Overwhelmed On City’s South Side

A warning for sump pump users on Escanaba’s far south side.

The city says its wastewater plant is running at full capacity and there’s more rain on the way. They ask you to discontinue sending sump water into the sanitary sewer system if you live south of 20th Avenue South. To avoid flooding your own or neighbors’ houses, they say, please direct your sump output into the street.
