A Menominee County man has been sentenced to up to five years behind bars for fleeing and eluding police after an incident that happened back in 2024.
Menominee County Prosecutor Jeffery Rogg says that 44-year-old Travis Scott Thiry of Daggett was sentenced on April 14th to between 23 and 60 months in prison for the incident.
A Menominee County Sheriff Deputy tried to pull over Thiry’s vehicle on County Road 358 in Lake Township, but Thiry took off, hitting speeds of 105 miles per hour for more than a mile, and with no headlights on.
He was eventually arrested while trying to run away.
“Mr. Thiry has 15 prior criminal convictions going back to 1999,” Rogg said. “The innocent citizens of Menominee County are at risk because this man refuses to stop driving in willful and wonton disregard for the safety of others.”
Thiry also faces unrelated felony charges in a separate case that accuses him and another Daggett resident of sexually abusing a child.
