CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH REP. PARKER FAIRBAIRN
‘The Michigan Senate this week passed legislation that will allow some school districts the Upper Peninsula and northern lower Michigan to waive four extra school days that were lost because of the March blizzard and April flooding.
The bill was written by northern Michigan state representative Parker Fairbairn, and it also passed in the House last week. Fairbairn tells RRN News that many schools have been scrambling to adjust their calendars deeper into June, something he says will add costs for local schools and disrupt family vacation plans. The bill now goes to Governor Gretchen Whitmer for her signature.
Fairbairn believes that the governor will sign the bill into law.
