The Upper Peninsula State Fair says that the grant agreements have officially been signed for funding through the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Capital Improvement Grant program.
This important funding includes $100,000 for much-needed repairs to the U.P. State Fair Beef Barn Roof, helping ensure this vital agricultural facility remains safe, functional, and ready to serve exhibitors and visitors for years to come. In addition, $3,000 has been awarded to help support the premium expense for exhibitors, further recognizing and supporting their hard work and dedication.
Fair officials thanked UP State Senators Ed McBroom and John Damoose for their support. They also thanked UP State Representatives, Greg Markkanen, Dave Prestin, and Karl Bohnak. And they thanked MDARD for “their continued support and investment in agriculture and for helping sustain the long-standing traditions of the U.P. State Fair”.
These improvements represent another positive step forward in preserving and enhancing the Fairgrounds for future generations.
