The Michigan Secretary of State, along with state and community partners, will host a “Road To Restroration” clinic in Hancock on Tuesday, as well as a second clinic in Iron Mountain on Wednesday.
The clinics are designed to help eligible drivers understand their current license status and determine what steps they need to take to safely return to driving.
Experts from the Michigan Department of State will meet individually with participants to review their driving records and answer questions about the restoration process.
Secretary of State services will also be available at the clinics, including vision testing and the written driver’s exam.
Road to Restoration is not a DUI/DWI/OWI expungement clinic and license reinstatement is not guaranteed. Reinstatement is assessed on an individual basis in accordance with state law. At Road to Restoration clinics, residents are still responsible for all fines and fees: the Michigan Department of State does not provide financial support toward financial responsibilities.
The Hancock clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hancock Community Hub, 417 Quincy St. Walk-ins will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as space permits.
The Iron Mountain clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Time at the Northern Lights YMCA Dickinson Program Center, 800 Crystal Lake Blvd., Suite 110. Walk-ins will also be accepted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as space permits.
Residents are encouraged to register in advance.
