Republican state representative Greg Markannen has won another term to represent the western Upper Peninsula in the state house. With 100-percent of the precincts reporting, Markkanen had just under 58-percent of the vote compared to 42-percent for Democratic challenger Janet Metsa.
The vote was 25,805 for Markkanen and 18,463 for Metsa. Green Party candidate Rick Sauermilch got 543 votes.
