Congressman Jack Bergman will serve for another two years in Washington.
The Watersmeet Republican defeated Democrat Dana Ferguson of Negaunee by a large percentage: 60.7 percent to 37.8 percent. That was with 97-percent of the precincts reporting as of 5 a.m. on Wednesday. The vote was 236,622 for Bergman and 147,446 for Ferguson. Libertarian candidate Ben Boren had 5,805 votes.
The First Congressional District covers all of the Upper Peninsula and a large chunk of the northern lower peninsula.
