The Marquette County Health Department is joining others around the Upper Peninsula in urging people to not gather for the Thanksgiving holiday. The department says that there is community spread of COVID-19, hospitals are stressed, and the spread of the virus between individuals at Thanksgiving is the biggest risk going forward.
The department says it is critical that everyone do their part and not gather with people outside of their immediate household, or at the most, one other household in a “social bubble”. They’re also suggesting a “Zoom-Sgiving” or other distant, Internet-based ways to connect with loved ones for the holiday.
