The CEOs of the three UP Health System hospitals released a letter Tuesday to the Upper Peninsula community, giving an update on the system’s ability to handle the surge of COVID-19 patients across the region.
Marquette CEO Gar Achison, Ishpeming-Bell CEO Mitch Leckelt, and Portage CEO Ed Freysinger, wrote that UPHS is “prepared to handle an influx of patients and expand the capacity of our facilities if needed.”
They say they are working hard to plan for all of these scenarios and adapt our hospital operations.
The CEOs also urged everyone in the U.P. to do their part in lsowing the spread by wearing a mask, not going to large gatherings, and wash your hands frequently.
