On 12-10-20, at about 11:20pm, a Deputy with the Delta County Sheriff’s Office was in Meijer when a Meijer employee reported a retail fraud had just occurred.
The Deputy went to the parking lot and located the suspect vehicle leaving the area. The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiate and the vehicle eventually pulled over on 14th Rd near M-69, where the driver fled on foot.
The driver, who is from the Wilson area, was located in the woods about 2 hours later and was taken into custody. The man was lodged at the Delta County Jail on multiple charges. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by DCSO K9, Michigan State Police K9, Hannahville Tribal Police and Menominee County Sheriff’s Office.
