The Marquette County Health Department says it is seeing a large spike in the number of gonorrhea cases.
The department says that in the first month of this year, it has seen five cases of the sexually-transmitted disease. They normally see between eight and eleven cases in an entire year. Most cases are asymptomatic, so people who are sexually active should get a routine testing for all STD’s, including gonorrhea.
