Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties (PHDM) is providing the weekly COVID-19 vaccine update to the community.
On Monday, March 1, 2021 PHDM received 1000 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. All one thousand of these doses were shipped to the Delta County office. OSF St. Francis Hospital also received 100 doses of the Moderna Vaccine and redistributed the vaccine to PHDM. On Thursday, March 4 the PHDM Menominee County office received 400 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. PHDM also received 700 second doses this week.
During the week of March 1 to March 7, 2021, PHDM held five clinics and administered 1974 doses (1192 first doses and 782 second doses) to those 65 years of age and older, health care workers, first responders, jail staff and pre-K through 12 teachers. Two of the clinics were second dose clinics held at Bay College, one second dose clinic was held at the Menominee High School. One first dose clinic was held at Bay College and another at the Pullman House Supper Club in Menominee.
Those additional populations who are now eligible to receive vaccinations now include anyone aged 60 and over, anyone 50 and over with underlying health conditions, caregivers of children with disabilities, food and beverage processors, and agricultural workers. Beginning on March 22, 2021 anyone over the age of 50 years old will be eligible to receive the vaccine.
