Marinette County Chief Deputy James Hansen reports that at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 Marinette County Dispatch received a call of a crash on Old 38 Rd. north of Dow Dam Rd. in the Town of Amberg.
Responding Deputies arrived on scene at 2:53 p.m.
The investigation indicates that a motorcycle operated by Krzystof Ciepalowicz, a 35 year old male from Armstrong Creek, WI was traveling southbound on Old 38 Rd. when it appears he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and entered the southbound ditch and was ejected. Mr. Ciepalowicz, (operator/lone occupant) was not wearing a helmet and appeared to have sustained critical injuries; he was transported from the scene by rescue.
On Thursday, May 13, 2021 The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Mr. Ciepalowicz passed away as a result of his injuries. Investigation is continuing by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Amberg Fire, Wausaukee Rescue, Integrity Care EMS, Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Marinette County Dispatch Center and The Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
