Lane Closed For Repairs On I-75 In Eastern U.P.

Starting this evening, the left lane of southbound I-75 will be closed about 2.2 miles north of the I-75/M-48 interchange in Chippewa County.

The lane will be closed in a coordinated effort between the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Chippewa County Road Commission while MDOT assesses a newly formed depression in the pavement near the north branch of the Munuscong River.

Pavement repairs may be necessary for the continued safe operation of the roadway. MDOT is uncertain how long it would take to complete repairs. The lane will be closed until further notice.
