Dickinson-Iron District Health Department is issuing a mask order for Dickinson and Iron counties.
The order requires that children in K-6 must wear a mask while inside any school building. The order also requires all persons, regardless of vaccination status, providing service to any child in kindergarten through grade six, wear a mask. The order goes into effect Monday.
As of September 15, there have been 3,261 cases of COVID-19 infections in Dickinson County and 1,231 cases of COVID-19 in Iron County. That goes all the way back to March of 2020. But the health department says the order comes because of a recent surge in cases: 382 in Dickinson County, with 37 percent of them being young kids.
