The Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, UP Campus is proud to announce the induction of three medical students into Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor medical society. This honor is given to students who excel academically, demonstrate professionalism, exhibit leadership qualities and a show a commitment to research and community service.
The MSU College of Human Medicine, UP Campus 2021 inductees include fourth-year students: Emily Bush of Hammond, New York; and Tyler Janish of Prescott, Michigan; and third-year student, Ben Wexler of Lambertville, Michigan, inducted as a junior AOA member.
“Membership into this society offers a distinction that many aspire to,” said Student Programs Administrator for Upper Peninsula Clinical Campus, Susan Tincknell, “it’s an honor and a privilege that can have positive impacts for our medical students.”
Eligible medical students are nominated in their third or fourth years of medical school.
Alpha Omega Alpha promotes professionalism, scholarship, leadership, and service to others. Eligibility for induction includes medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians throughout their career.
