Each year, students in the First District create and submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The competition was created in 2013 through House Resolution 77, which outlined plans for Representatives to host individual app competitions in their Districts to promote computer science and STEM.
Last year’s winners from Michigan’s First District were Brett Bruner, Joshua Doctor, Shane Pilate, and Gabrielle Krakow from Elk Rapids High School for their work titled, “Space Hop.”
The competition is for middle and high school students who can either register individually or as teams of up to four.
Interested participants should submit their applications by November 1st, 2021.
