The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 9,137 new positive coronavirus test results and 18 new COVID-related deaths over the three-day period of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
That’s roughly three thousand new cases per day.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 18 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were 278 new cases reported for the three days, for an average of 93 cases per day. Delta County had the most with 57, followed by Marquette County with 49 new cases. Menominee County added 29, Dickinson County 18, and there were 13 new cases in Schoolcraft County.
New COVID deaths were reported in Marquette and Baraga Counties.
