The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 25,329 new positive coronavirus test results and 80 new COVID-related deaths over the five-day period that goes back to last Wednesday.
State officials also checked old death certificates and matched them to previous positive COVID test results. They added 57 more deaths to the statewide total.
There are 4,181 adults and 48 kids hospitalized with COVID around Michigan, with 903 in Intensive Care Units and 577 on breathing ventilators.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there are 69 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 28 in ICU’s and seven on ventilators.
There were nine new COVID deaths reported in the U.P.: three in Delta County, two each in Menominee and Chippewa Counties, and one each in Marquette and Iron Counties.
There were 428 new cases reported in the U.P. over those five days, with 88 of them in Marquette County, 63 in Delta County, 49 in Houghton County, and 46 in Gogebic County. There were 34 new cases reported in Dickinson County.
